The book
It took thirty six weeks for the book to become a work of art, traveling between four artists (two in Belfast and two in New York, Brooklyn) without any communication during the process. It reminds me in a weird way of a project one of my friends had that included city traveling of ,,The little prince” book.

It’s beyond my control
is one of the lines the Vicomte de Valmont keeps repeating ferociously to Madame Marie de Tourvel in Dangerous Liaisons. This line triggered the sentence which best describes the works of art of Tim Knowles. Once the complicated apparatus in set in function, things are beyond his control. Fascinated by this human- free intervention in the creating of the piece of art itself, Knowles wants to see if the environment can create it’s own piece of art. And by environment I mean trees, motion, light, water and seems there are no boundaries.
I simply love the ideas, not so much the result but I rely on the basic premise that I’m only human. Enjoy and visit the link for his entire work.
Nightwalks
A series of illuminated walks made at night and recorded as long exposure photographs.
The Artist walks away from the camera [mounted on a tripod, shutter open] carrying 3 very powerful torches fitted with diffusers, the lights are connected to a 12volt battery in a backpack to prolong their life. As he walks the torches illuminate the route, drawing in the landscape. A number of walks have been completed so far following paths or compass bearings for approximately 30 minutes. This is an ongoing body of work.

A series of drawings produced using drawing implements attached to the tips of tree branches,
the wind’s effects on the tree, recorded on paper. Like signatures each drawing reveals the
different qualities and characteristics of each tree.

Guerilla knitting
Cover the world in wool and mohair
using the power of your fingers- this could be the most harmless type of protest in urban culture. There already are crews like Knitta please of ladies from all over the world, trying to leave a witty – knitty mark on the world.
They display their work on trees
On poles and handrails
They prevent statues from catching a cold
And houses…

Artist found!
Takorasu, a Japanese artist that draws very impressing illustrations and has realeased a book called Takorasu World which animebooks.com describes: “Here is a new artist with his new book! Takorasu draws from his warm, creative imagination through using black and white mythical creatures to explore his inner self. This artbook also comes with a visual and musical DVD”
It’s on my wishlist from now on.
Nagi Noda- just discovered
Unfortunatelly a little too late because she just died, at the age of 35 from the effects of a car accident. But as I read the story, i started to discover her work bit by bit and enjoyed a lot the hair hats, the half an animal, half another animal characters and the photography work and design. They all compose a full artist from Nagi Noda.
Aside from this, I found good inspiration in her advertising work and tv ads directing.

Stencils in Romania
Stencils-urile iti cresc vanzarile?!?
